ALBUM RELEASE at BIRDLAND

WILL FRIEDWALD

"To me, the key strength of Ann Kittredge’s singing is that she can take a piece like “Garden” and make you forget you are even listening to a song, but rather more like hearing a close friend impart a deep, personal truth: a confession as much as a song. And, at the same time, deliver “Mr. Tambourine Man” in a way that makes you feel you know precisely what’s going on, even if you can’t really articulate it in specific words."

With director Barry Kleinbort, Ann and her musical cohorts are planning a real night to remember. Tuesday, May 14 at 5:30pm, Christopher Denny, Rex Benincasa, Sean Harkness, Mary Ann McSweeney and Aaron Heick reunite with Ann after spending much of 2023 at Eastside Sound Studios bouncing off ideas and creating an album of romantic notions just for you!

PRE-ALBUM SINGLE RELEASE STREAMING NOW

"There’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news:  Ann Kittredge has recorded a new album. The bad news: ROMANTIC NOTIONS won’t be released until the spring. Never fear, Kittredge Kids, Ann has released a single, a teaser, a trailer, an amuse bouche to whet the appetite. And here’s the really good news: the single is great...For her own version of the opening track from TAPESTRY, Ann Kittredge has gone a new direction, which is apparent from the slow and sultry beginnings of the single. Smooth and sexy and capturing a mood that melds jazz with rhythm and blues, the performance is immediately more sensual than in any previous iteration."

What They Say About

Mel Shapiro

TONY winner, Director/Writer

"Ann Kittredge is that rare thing today, she shines a light on the lyrics of a song. With a lovely voice a song becomes a story, each story compelling, witty or sad, real or stylized, but always fresh and exciting and a thrill to listen to."

The "Prince of Cabaret," Steve Ross

Quote from reIMAGINE Release Party and featured on album

"I am not often at a loss for words, but it has happened. The concert (it was indeed a concert as well as being a cabaret act -the latter sounds a little informal for the extraordinary level of music created) was really one of the finest, most satisfying, charming, touching, awe- inspiring evenings I've had in recent times. Perfect in every way from the song choices and their arrangements, to the band! Of course the girl-singer was a heartbreaking knockout! I was truly honored to be part of the proceedings."

Lynn Ahrens

TONY winning, OSCAR nominated lyricist

"Ann has a beautiful and expressive voice, perfect for telling stories in music."

Iolanthe

Huntington Theatre, Boston Globe

"Ann Kittredge's Iolanthe is a vocal and visual knockout…the part demands the gentleness, strength and warmth Ann Kittredge brings to it; the beauty of her mezzo voice is a bonus."

Moon Over Buffalo

starring Gavin MacLeod, Falmouth Enterprize

"Ann Kittredge steals the show as the Hays' daughter, Rosalind, particularly in the hilarious balcony scene from Hay's production of Noel Coward's "Private Lives." Ms. Kittredge's performance in this scene is outstanding."
